Long time no talk, friends! You would think by reading the title of this blog post that it was the first or second of the month…wrong! It’s the 9th! You know, I had the best intentions of getting this up around the first of the month and starting the month off with several blog posts, but we got home from Kiawah Island and the girls and I jumped in the car not long after and headed to the lake the spend some time with my parents while daddy had to work over the fourth! I brought home a migraine as a souvenir from the lake. (what’s new, right?).
I had mentioned previously that I wanted to have a few monthly goals. After the month is over I will touch base and share with you if I completed my tasks or stayed on tasks. I am already starting a little late, but there is still plenty on time left in the month!
1- Finish a book. I’ve got this book and this book that I haven’t even started started yet. I’m picking up this one tomorrow while Brynlee is doing a fun little summer book club at a small local book store. And I’ve started (as in MAYBE 15 pages) of this book! The first handful of pages have not disappointed! I have always loved to read, but it just hasn’t been a priority in a very long time. The book club that Brynlee is doing meets for an hour for the next 6 weeks and we have to stay near by. Bill is going to keep Millie Cate, so I plan to read! With that amount of time, finishing a book is very doable! Let’s just hope that I remember to bring the book!
2- Continue to organize and declutter. I really want to start the school year off with a clean slate and without all of the clutter. It is a SLOW AND PAINFUL process! We are making progress through!
3- Learn to play tennis. I started tennis lessons and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them! I even took more in Kiawah. I am only taking one lesson a week now, but am about to add two more a week. I’ve really enjoyed playing and it has been good mommy time too!
4- Keep marking stuff off of our summer bucket list. You can find our bucket list here.
6- Have as many pool days as possible. We traveled pretty much the whole month of June. Now we are ready to soak up days at the pool. Mommy wouldn’t mind maybe a few naps from the girls when they get home either!
7- Drink more water and get back on the Weight Watchers bandwagon. There is really no explanation needed for this one. I’ve got a little bit to go until I get to where I would like to be. I am just ready to be there and be done with it.
Do you have any goals for the month? Did you start them on time or late like me?
